Poland uses the złoty (PLN) and remains outside the eurozone, so prices in Gdańsk are never quoted in euros. Card payment is accepted almost everywhere, from Old Town restaurants to SKM ticket machines, but keep some cash for the stalls at the Jarmark św. Dominika and the beach kiosks in Sopot. Withdraw złoty from a bank-branded ATM rather than an Euronet machine, and always choose to be charged in PLN. Paying in euros at a till usually means a poor, on-the-spot exchange rate.
Exchange rates below are indicative and move daily, so check your own bank or card provider before you travel. Airport and Old Town exchange kiosks often offer weaker rates than a bank app or a mid-city kantor.
